If I'm not mistaken this was Alex's first leading role in a box office movie in the U.S. and what a role to land. Playing alongside Jennifer Lopez who is the queen of rom coms . 
I've read somewhere that he thinks comedy timing is hard, well he sure didn't make it look that way. I laughed a lot throughout this movie.
Having had two kids myself I could really identify with a lot of the things Zoe went through. The mood swings, the tiredness, the... lets call it, appetite for sex... oh my God... hilarious. And Alex was the perfect co-star for her to play off against.
I especially liked the scene in the cheese barn... when she tells him she's pregnant and his responce is priceless. And I know Alex didn't write the script, but his excecution of the lines were heartfelt and, if I'm honest, totally warranted.
