Summary: When a member of the security detail for an upcoming Aid Summit is murdered just before he can reveal details of an assassination plot, McGarrett and the Five-0 team are asked to step in, investigate the murder, and help protect the target. The target is General Pak and his family, visiting from a ruthless dictatorship called Kandimar. Assisting the Five-0 team is Nick Tallridge, a former Special Ops buddy of McGarrett’s. Their investigation leads them to the hideout of the assassin, but she's killed trying to escape the island. With their only lead dead, McGarrett asks them to postpone the visit, but it turns out the General is seeking asylum for his family while he testifies against the regime who empowered him and the meeting is too important to delay. En route from the airport, McGarrett senses the trap and manages to evade capture. He takes the family to his home and starts bunkering in. Though he trusted Tallridge implicitly, McGarrett learns his former comrade in arms has become a gun for hire and is leading the assassination plot. With all their communications to the outside cutoff, the Five-0 team works together to protect the General and his family, and, while under siege, they take down Tallridge and his men. Another episode that I especially enjoyed, simply because we got to see McGarrett with his S.E.A.L friend, and the seeming jealousy Danno contracted.
For me this episode was less about General Pak and more about seeing McGarrett in S.E.A.L mode. He's a pretty tough son of a b*tch when he wants to be.
